Continues to support and protect human/social services, including health and recreation centers for the most vulnerable in our community.

Sponsored a motion to review and realign the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) program, co-sponsored adoption of the Open Task Force recommendations for the SBE.

Co-sponsored the Environmental Justice Ordinance; the goal of which is to include an added measure of protection for citizens from pollutants that are emitted from industrial sources.

Continues to change the face of law enforcement with the CIRV (Cincinnati Initiative to Reduce Violence) initiative which provides help to people who want to turn their lives around and coming down hard on those who do not. Cincinnati has received two national awards as a result of my initiatives for this program.

Continues to support the interests of our police, firefighters, AFSCME and CODE.

Continues to support the interests of City retirees.

Authored Legislation:

Dance Hall Ordiance(Enacted in January 2006)
Successfully lobbied Council to amend the Cincinnati Municipal Code to increase penalties for first time offenders and replace it with a fourth degree misdemeanor.

Marijuana Ordiance(Enacted in February 2006)
Providing an additional search and seizure tool for law enforcement personal in their continued effort to combat violence and remove guns and drugs from the streets of Cincinnati streets, cutting down on the profitability of open-air street dealing by deterring potential customers.

Cincinnati Youth Streetworker Program/Cincinnati Arts and Technology Center(December 2005)
Successfully lobbied City Council to provide $100,000 in funding for the Cincinnati Youth Streetworker Program and the Cincinnati Arts and Technology Center. These programs provide direct resources and outreach services to at risk youth/young adults in our most troubled neighborhoods addressing the critical problem of violence and crime.

Workshops/Presentations: Approximately 20 on crime, support of police/law enforcement, neighborhood issues, etc.

Support Our Police Press Conference: Sponsored press conference in support of our police and called upon other City and County officials to publicly support law enforcement. The result is we have put together a comprehensive plan to address violent crime in our city, which is currently being implemented in the Over-the-Rhine community.

Summer Curfew/Curfew Centers Committee: Coordinating the City of Cincinnati’s collaborative effort to establish a summer curfew program.

City of Cincinnati 2006 UNCF Campaign: As Co-Chair, along with Cincinnati Police Chief Thomas H. Streicher, Jr., the City of Cincinnati has raised approximately $80,000. This represents the most money ever raised for a UNCF Campaign by the City of Cincinnati.
